Basic Knowledge of Color Temperature
Changing the color temperature is changing the proportion of different lights.The higher proportion of red light,the warmer the color. The higher blue light,the cooler the tone.
Color temperature,by definition,is the temperature at which a black body would emit radiation of the same color as a given object. White LEDs are the inevitable way to achieve semiconductor lighting. A white LED is not a monochromatic light, and there is no white light in the spectrum of visible light. According to people's research on visible light, white light that can be seen by human eyes which is produced by mixing two or more kinds of light.
Different color temperature white LEDs are mixed into a bundle of white light, and the luminous flux of the mixed white light is the sum of the luminous fluxes of the white LEDs of different color temperatures. By changing the driving currents of different color temperatures, thereby changing the luminous flux of different color temperatures, and changing the spectral power distribution curves of different color temperatures, the new spectral power distribution curves generated by different color temperatures are superimposed and mixed to form a new spectral power distribution curve,thus getting dynamically adjustable white light.
The higher the Degrees Kelvin, the whiter the color temperature. At the lower end of the scale, from 2700K to 3000K, the light produced is called “warm white” and ranges from orange to yellow-white in appearance.It is suitable for restaurant,commercial ambient lighting,decorative lighting.
Color temperatures between 3100K and 4500K are referred to as “cool white” or “bright white.” It can be used for basements,garages and such.
Above 4500K-6500K brings us into the “daylight”.It is widely used for display area,sports field and security lighting.
