1. LED technology and its advantages in mine applications
At present, most of the lamps used in coal mines are explosion-proof or safety-enhancing lamps. Because incandescent lamps, fluorescent lamps, high-pressure sodium lamps and other light sources are heat-source high-pressure lamps, they cannot meet the requirements of explosion-proof and intrinsically safe lamps. Intrinsically safe luminaires can replace explosion-proof or increased-safety luminaires and equipment to improve safe production conditions in coal mines. LED is a cold light source, which has the characteristics of low power consumption, low heat generation, high safety and reliability, and long life. It can greatly reduce the maintenance times of downhole lamps, reduce potential safety hazards caused by lamp breakage, and reduce maintenance costs.
LED is a semiconductor element that converts electrical energy into visible light. It changes the principle of the three primary colors of incandescent tungsten filament and energy-saving lamps. It uses pn junction carriers to emit light. It is a cold light source, no flicker and color temperature. Close to daylight, can effectively protect the eyesight of underground operators, and avoid gas explosion accidents caused by ordinary lighting. LED uses low-voltage DC power supply, working voltage is 6-24V, is intrinsically safe, safer and more economical than using high-voltage power, its power consumption is only 30% of traditional incandescent lamps, which can effectively save energy.
